Fuel Cell System Engineer
ARCA is supporting an aerospace programme to bring in an experienced Fuel Cell Systems Engineer on a contract basis.
This is a hands-on role focused on the design, architecture and integration of the wider fuel-cell system, working across balance-of-plant, hydrogen / gas distribution, controls and system interfaces.
The work:
- Fuel-cell system design, architecture and integration
- Balance-of-plant system and component integration
- Low-pressure hydrogen / gas distribution
- Specification and integration of valves, blowers and flow regulation equipment
- Fuel-cell control architecture and operating strategy
- System requirements and interface definition
- Supporting development, validation and troubleshooting
- Working across stack, mechanical, controls, test and wider engineering teams

What they’re looking for:
- Good understanding of PEM fuel cells at a system level
- Strong systems engineering, architecture and integration experience
- Experience working with balance-of-plant and fluid / gas systems
- Requirements and interface management experience
- Hands-on experience taking systems through development and validation
- Aerospace experience preferred, although other regulated / safety-critical industries will be considered

- Contract: 6 months initially – Outside IR35
- Location: Gloucestershire / Hybrid
