About The Role
We're looking for a Fuel Data Analyst to join our Fuel team and turn data into meaningful business insights. You'll use tools such as Power BI to analyse fuel and wet stock data, identify trends, support operational performance, and help drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
You will be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in creating impactful reports and dashboards. This is a varied role with exposure to multiple aspects of the Fuel function, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems with data and influencing business decisions.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and analyse fuel and wet stock data across sites, ensuring accurate stock levels and minimising shortages, losses, and operational risks.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualisations that provide real-time insights into fuel performance, stock movements, trends, and key metrics.
- Investigate stock variances and fuel losses, identifying potential issues such as leaks, equipment faults, calibration errors, or theft, and support resolution activities.
- Analyse fuel demand, consumption trends, and lifting requirements to support forecasting, contractual commitments, and efficient fuel allocation.
- Work closely with suppliers, hauliers, and operational teams to coordinate deliveries, manage stock levels, and mitigate supply risks through proactive planning.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Finance, IT, and Site Operations teams to reconcile data, improve reporting accuracy, and support informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with fuel storage, handling, and industry regulations through accurate monitoring, reporting, and performance tracking.
- Drive continuous improvement within the Fuel department by enhancing systems, reporting capabilities, data integration, and the use of analytics to optimise operations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
