Fuel Systems Installation Design Engineer

Location: Filton, Bristol (100% Onsite)

Hours: 35 Hours per Week (4.5 Day Working Week)

Contract: Until July 2027 with Potential Extension

Clearance: BPSS Clearance Required

Pay Rate: £46.00 per hour Umbrella / £34.39 per hour PAYE

Our client is seeking a Fuel Systems Installation Design Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team based in Filton. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative, multinational design environment, contributing to the development and support of advanced aircraft programmes and future aerospace technologies.

As part of a dynamic engineering team, you will play a key role in the design, validation, and development of fuel system installation components across a diverse aircraft portfolio. You will work closely with stakeholders, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to deliver innovative engineering solutions while supporting ongoing product improvements and fleet development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the full design lifecycle from concept through to production and manufacturing support.
  • Design and validate fuel system installation components and assemblies, ensuring optimum weight, cost, quality, and safety.
  • Produce and deliver manufacturing and assembly definition documentation.
  • Conduct technical studies, investigations, and trade-off activities to support engineering solutions.
  • Develop design concepts for product improvements and future technologies.
  • Support modification programmes, in-service fleet activities, and manufacturing operations.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience using CATIA V5.
  • Experience with configuration management and design tools such as PASS, DPDS, VPM, ICC/ACP.
  • Proven 3D CAD design experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proactive, adaptable approach with a strong focus on delivery and collaboration.

Desirable Experience

  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • Previous experience within fuel systems is advantageous but not essential.
  • Candidates with experience in hydraulic systems, landing gear, or other mechanical aircraft systems are encouraged to apply.
