Full Stack AI Engineer
We are investing in technology across the business and are looking for a Full Stack AI Engineer to help build, maintain and extend the software solutions that support our technology programme.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building production-quality applications, integrations, AI enabled workflows and automation solutions. You will work across frontend, backend, cloud and data integration layers, turning business requirements into secure, scalable and maintainable software, with guidance and support from senior colleagues in the Gerald Edelman Technology team. You will report to the Technology Director.

What will the role entail?
The role combines full stack software development with AI platform integration, automation and data connected application delivery. You will develop new applications, extend existing systems and build the agents, connectors and workflows that allow our AI platforms to work effectively with the Firm’s internal systems.

You will be responsible for:
- Designing, building and maintaining full stack software applications across frontend, backend, database and cloud layers.
- Contributing to the technical design and delivery of software solutions that are secure, scalable and maintainable.
- Building custom agents, plugins, skills and connectors for Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio and Claude Cowork.
- Developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines, document automation tools and large language model integrations that connect AI capabilities to firm data.
- Creating integrations between practice management, client relationship, document, reporting and financial systems.
- Contributing to Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including data pipelines, storage, integration layers and deployment tooling.
- Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, development standards and operational processes.
- Working with the Technology Director, department heads and technology champions to identify requirements, scope solutions and deliver measurable business value.
- Writing clear technical documentation and supporting handover to the wider technology team for ongoing maintenance.
- Sharing knowledge with colleagues and contributing to good development practices within the Gerald Edelman Technology team.
Our AI platforms
Our technology programme makes use of Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Claude Cowork and Microsoft Azure. Experience with these exact platforms is helpful, but we are equally interested in candidates who can demonstrate strong software engineering judgement, sound architecture principles and the ability to learn new platforms quickly.
- Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio: building custom agents, connectors and workflows for use across Teams, SharePoint, Outlook and Microsoft 365.
- Claude Cowork: extending agentic desktop workflows through reusable skills, plugins, connectors and scheduled automations.
- Microsoft Azure: contributing to cloud infrastructure, data storage, processing, integration, security and governance layers.
Requirements
Essential skills and experience
- Demonstrable experience building and shipping production software, typically three to five years of professional development experience.
- Full stack development skills, with practical experience in backend development (C# or Python), frontend development (Angular or React/Next.js) and relational databases (SQL Server), and depth in at least one of these areas.
- Curiosity and initiative to learn new tools, frameworks and platforms quickly, and to spot where they could add value to the Firm.
- Good understanding of modern software development practices, including Agile delivery, test-driven development, DevOps principles and code quality standards.
- Experience writing clean, well-tested, maintainable code, and participating in code reviews.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Confident and regular user of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.
- Cloud development experience on Microsoft Azure.
- Experience contributing to projects through to live deployment, including documentation, support and handover.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and build trusted working relationships across the Firm.

Desirable Skills And Experience
- Experience developing agents, plugins, skills or connectors for Microsoft Copilot Studio, Claude Cowork or comparable agentic AI platforms.
- Background in accountancy, professional services, legal, financial services or another regulated environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power Apps, alongside custom software development.
- Project management skills, with the ability to organise workstreams, manage priorities, track actions and help drive delivery through to completion.
- Knowledge of data governance, GDPR compliance, information security standards and secure software delivery in a professional services environment.

You will focus on hands-on implementation while growing your contribution to technical design, collaborating with stakeholders and senior colleagues to turn ideas into secure, maintainable solutions.
