About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Kotlin Developer to join our dynamic team based in Bristol, offering a hybrid working model with two days onsite. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying innovative digital solutions for a variety of clients, including those in the public and private sectors. You will work within multidisciplinary teams, combining your technical expertise with leadership capabilities to deliver high-quality, scalable applications. Your responsibilities will include mentoring junior engineers, overseeing the full development lifecycle, and ensuring best practices are adhered to throughout the project. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in full stack development with Kotlin and Java, complemented by a solid understanding of modern software engineering principles. Proven expertise with Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and RESTful APIs is essential. Familiarity with Node.js, TypeScript, and frameworks like Express.js or Nunjucks will be advantageous. Candidates should have hands-on experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes. Knowledge of DevOps practices, including Terraform, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps, is highly desirable. A background in delivering scalable, high-quality digital solutions and experience in a consultancy or government environment will be considered a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical solutions clearly to stakeholders are also important.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of user-centered software solutions, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry best practices.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable applications using Kotlin and Java, leveraging frameworks like Spring Boot.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative digital services tailored to client needs.
  • Take ownership of the entire development pipeline, including deployment and ongoing maintenance.
  • Build and manage microservices and RESTful APIs to ensure seamless integration and performance.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Present technical solutions, project progress, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders at various levels.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable deployment processes.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate them into projects to enhance functionality and performance.
