About The Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer to join our client’s team on a contract basis for an initial period of six months. This remote role is based in London and offers the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining modern digital platforms tailored for the insurance sector. You will be responsible for creating intuitive, scalable, and high-performance user interfaces that support critical insurance services such as customer portals, policy management systems, underwriting workflows, and claims processing journeys.

In this role, you will work within a cross-functional product team, collaborating closely with backend engineers, UX designers, architects, and business stakeholders. Your expertise will contribute to delivering secure, data-driven solutions that comply with industry regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on innovative projects within a regulated environment, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and best practices to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in enterprise-grade frontend development, with proven experience in building scalable applications using React. Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript is essential, along with a solid understanding of responsive design principles, HTML5, and CSS3. Candidates should have experience developing reusable component libraries and scalable frontend architectures. Familiarity with integrating RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and third-party platforms is required. Experience working within regulated environments such as insurance, financial services, banking, or fintech is highly desirable.

Additional qualifications include experience with state management solutions like Redux or Zustand, a focus on application performance, security, and accessibility, and familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or Playwright. Knowledge of Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines is also necessary. Desirable skills include prior experience in the insurance sector, exposure to policy administration, underwriting, or claims systems, and familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, enhancing, and maintaining scalable React-based applications that support key insurance operations.
  • Building reusable UI components and shared frontend libraries aligned with design system standards to ensure consistency across platforms.
  • Collaborating with product managers, engineers, UX designers, and business stakeholders to deliver seamless and engaging digital experiences for customers.
  • Integrating frontend applications with backend services such as policy, claims, and customer data via APIs.
  • Ensuring high code quality through rigorous testing, peer reviews, and adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Optimizing applications for performance, security, accessibility, and scalability.
  • Contributing to architectural discussions and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the development lifecycle.
