Full Stack Developer
Location: London or Ipswich - Hybrid
The role
Our client is a global managed services and technology consultancy serving financial services. They're hiring a Full Stack JavaScript Developer to build blockchain and DLT solutions for financial services clients. You'll architect systems across frontend, backend, and database, optimise performance, and mentor junior developers. Expect deep work across frontend frameworks, Node.js, API integrations, and UX best practice.
What you'll do
- Architect and build responsive, high-quality web apps in React and TypeScript, with Node.js/TypeScript on the backend
- Lead design and development of scalable, high-performance applications
- Apply best practice in security, accessibility, and performance
- Build reusable components and libraries
- Run code reviews, testing, and debugging to keep standards high
- Keep up with emerging trends in software development and blockchain
- Mentor and technically lead junior developers
- Work with product managers, UX designers, and other teams to improve usability
- Improve engineering processes, including tooling, CI/CD, and testing

What you'll bring
- Proven software development experience, ideally React plus Express/NestJS
- Strong JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design
- SQL and database design on an RDBMS such as PostgreSQL
- Proven experience building RESTful APIs
- Frontend state management (e.g., Redux)
- Git, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks
- Containerisation (Docker and/or Kubernetes)
- Solid grasp of performance optimisation
- Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor others, and drive best practice
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong collaboration and communication

Nice to have
- Hands-on experience or knowledge of blockchain (e.g., Ethereum, Algorand, Hedera)
- Agile methodologies
