About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Full-Stack JavaScript Developer to join a dynamic team working on a cutting-edge platform aimed at enhancing the online customer journey. This role involves developing and maintaining a comprehensive single-page application using React on the front end, alongside robust back-end services built with Node.js. The successful candidate will contribute to building a seamless, secure, and scalable system that guides consumers through processes such as identity verification, e-signature, and submission. This position requires onsite presence four days a week in Upminster, Essex, and offers an exciting opportunity to work on a regulated consumer product with significant impact.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of professional experience in JavaScript development, demonstrating proficiency in both front-end and back-end technologies. Strong knowledge of React, including hooks, routing, controlled forms, and state management, is essential. Experience in building and consuming REST APIs using frameworks such as Fastify or Express is required. Practical understanding of SQL, particularly schema design, transactions, joins, and indexes, is necessary, with SQL Server experience considered advantageous. A solid testing mindset, emphasizing meaningful test coverage at all layers, is highly valued. Excellent written communication skills and the ability to document technical decisions clearly are also important for success in this role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
