About The Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Developer to join the dynamic team at SmartSourcing Ltd. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing new applications and maintaining existing web-based solutions that support our supply chain operations. Working closely with the WMS Development Manager, you will ensure the seamless functionality and performance of our software systems, contributing to the continuous improvement of our logistics services. This position offers a unique opportunity to be hands-on in a small, collaborative team environment where your technical expertise will directly impact business efficiency and client satisfaction.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in web and application development, preferably within a 3PL or logistics environment. You should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and have the ability to collaborate effectively with team members. A proactive attitude, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential. Proven experience with relevant technologies and a solid understanding of logistics processes will be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Full lifecycle development and ongoing support of current and future applications, including troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly, providing fixes or workarounds as needed.
- Maintaining source control of code using approved tools, ensuring that all code is checked in regularly and kept up to date.
- Collaborating with other developers to develop new applications or enhance existing solutions, working as part of a team to deliver high-quality results.
- Managing the SolarWinds Service Desk system by identifying issues within the scope of responsibility and re-allocating misclassified tasks to the appropriate teams.
- Handling change requests related to CIA, diagnosing issues, implementing fixes, and liaising with team members to ensure timely resolution.
- Researching new software programs, tools, or techniques to improve existing applications or develop innovative solutions for future needs.
- Monitoring application performance and reliability to ensure a secure, efficient, and user-friendly experience for end users.
