Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and maintaining live software products, including delivering functionality, resolving operational issues, and taking responsibility for improvements after delivery.
  • Practical experience building and maintaining React and TypeScript applications, with a sound understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Strong backend development experience, including designing, building, and troubleshooting custom APIs and system integrations.
  • Some practical experience building and maintaining Power BI reports.
  • Confidence in understanding unfamiliar codebases, tracing problems across connected systems, and learning new technologies.
  • Sound development practices, including version control, debugging, appropriate testing, and clear documentation.
  • Initiative, resourcefulness, and accountability: ability to follow problems through, make considered technical decisions, and recognise when to seek support.
  • Clear communication with technical colleagues, external development partners, and people without a technical background.
  • Experience in a product company or startup is strongly preferred, particularly where you have contributed directly to product development, maintained live applications, and dealt with the operational consequences of your technical decisions.
  • Strong backend and API development capability is essential. Previous Python experience is advantageous, but developers with strong experience in other backend languages who can quickly become productive in Python will be considered.
  • Previous Business Central integration or AL development experience is also advantageous. Willingness and ability to learn the Business Central development environment to build custom APIs and connect it reliably to applications is required.
