ROLE TITLE: Full Stack Developer

LOCATION: Manchester or London or Leicester (3 days per week on site with some weeks 5 days)

LENGTH: 12 months

SALARY: £41,000 to £45,000 per annum

5 Years UK Residency AND based in UK

Role Overview

We are actively looking to secure a Full Stack Developer to join Experis.

Experis Consultancy is a Global entity with a well-established team with over 1000 consultants on assignment across 20 clients globally. We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of innovative software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java programming, experience with modern frameworks and libraries, and a passion for delivering high-quality, maintainable code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications.
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions using modern Java frameworks and technologies.
  • Develop and support microservices-based architectures and distributed systems.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA engineers, and other developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the adoption of modern development practices.
  • Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of applications in cloud and containerised environments.

Technical Skills

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience in Java development.
  • Experience with one or more popular Java frameworks and libraries, including:
    • Spring / Spring Boot
    • Hibernate
    • Struts
    • JavaServer Faces (JSF)
    • Apache Commons
    • Guava
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and associated technologies, including:
    • Docker
    • Kubernetes
    • Swagger / OpenAPI
  • Experience with source control systems such as Git.
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies and automated testing practices.
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies.

Industry Experience

  • Proven experience delivering solutions within the UK Public Sector.
  • Understanding of Public Sector delivery frameworks, governance, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working on large-scale digital transformation or citizen-facing services is highly desirable.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with messaging technologies and event-driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with secure coding principles and application security standards.
  • Exposure to container orchestration and cloud-native development patterns.
