About the Role
You'll be the owner of our Flutter companion app, the product our players spend the most time in, with full responsibility for building, shipping and evolving it. Alongside that you'll be a strong backend developer, confidently handling most of what comes up across our Node/TypeScript + MongoDB systems and their integrations. You will also maintain our gaming web platform and integrations. Working closely with our Senior Game Developer, you'll keep the platforms behind our games reliable and easy to evolve, using AI accelerated workflows to ship faster and reduce manual work across the team.
Mobile App: Flutter (Primary Focus)
- Own our Flutter companion app end-to-end: architecture, features, releases and quality
- Build and ship a growing library of daily games (in Flame, Unity or similar), backed by clean REST APIs
- Integrate APIs, authentication, analytics, push notifications, in-app purchases and crash reporting
- Continuously improve UX, performance, stability and release process across iOS and Android
Backend & Integrations (Secondary Focus)
- Maintain and extend our Node/TypeScript + MongoDB backend
- Build and evolve APIs and admin functionality that support our apps
- Integrate third-party services: Shopify, payments, email, analytics
- Keep data handling clean, secure and pragmatic; comfortable owning most backend problems independently
Web Platform (Maintenance)
- Maintain and make light updates to our Next.js/React web platform
- Support login, redemption flows and features tied to game launches and promotions
AI Accelerated Development
- Use AI tools daily to speed up coding, refactoring and testing
- Build reusable prompt patterns and workflows
- Reduce human workload through smart automation
- Balance speed with sound engineering judgement

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What success looks like
- A high-quality, reliable Flutter app you fully own and steadily improve
- Backend issues handled confidently and independently, with minimal reliance on freelancers
- Clean, well-documented, maintainable integrations
- Faster feature delivery through meaningful use of AI
- Stable releases that support game launches, in strong collaboration with the Senior Game Developer
- A steady stream of polished daily games shipping into the app
Essential
- Strong, demonstrable Flutter/Dart experience: able to own a production app independently
- Solid backend experience with Node.js/TypeScript, MongoDB and API development
- Experience integrating third-party services (e.g. Shopify, payments, auth)
- Confidence using AI tools to accelerate development
- Pragmatic engineering judgement: you know when "good and shipped" beats "perfect"
Desirable
- React/Next.js experience (enough to maintain a stable web codebase)
- Cloud deployment experience (Google Cloud / Docker / CI/CD)
- Firebase, mobile analytics, in-app purchases or push notifications
- E-commerce / login & user-account systems
- Working in small, product-led teams
- Building games in Flame in your spare time: bonus points if you can share samples or a portfolio
- Game development in Unity or other engines
- Real-time or multiplayer game networking (Socket.IO, Photon or similar)
Working Style
We’re looking for someone who:
- Enjoys autonomy but works collaboratively
- Values speed, iteration and practicality
- Is comfortable supporting a technical lead rather than being the lead
- Can move between mobile polish and backend logic without friction
- Is excited about using AI to multiply impact
