Full Stack Developer – Contract
Location: Predominantly Remote / 1 day per week onsite in the Windsor/Surrey area
Contract: 30 billable days, 7.5 hours per day
Start: ASAP
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to join a global pharmaceutical organisation on a short-term contract supporting a new digital project. You will work alongside an existing developer, designers, and internal stakeholders to develop and enhance a web-based platform supporting an existing AI system. The focus of the role is application development and integration rather than AI or machine-learning model development.
The primary technology stack is React, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. You will contribute across the front end, back end, database, integrations, testing, and deployment, while translating approved UI/UX designs into robust, production-ready functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and enhance an existing web-based platform using React and TypeScript.
- Translate approved UI/UX designs into responsive, accessible, and maintainable components.
- Work across front-end, back-end, API, and database layers.
- Work with PostgreSQL, including schema changes, queries, relational data modelling, performance, and data integrity.
- Build, consume, and integrate REST APIs and web services.
- Integrate the platform with an existing AI system and other internal or external services.
- Collaborate with the existing developer to understand the prototype, architecture, codebase, and development standards.
- Work closely with designers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and accurately deliver approved designs.
- Test, debug, and support applications across development and production environments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation covering architecture, code, data flows, deployment, and support procedures.
- Support additional website development, maintenance, bug fixes, and digital projects where required.

Essential Experience
- Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript.
- Proven full-stack development experience across front-end, back-end, APIs, and databases.
- Strong practical experience with PostgreSQL, including relational data modelling and query development.
- Experience designing, building, integrating, and consuming REST APIs or comparable web services.
- Experience implementing responsive interfaces from approved designs, prototypes, or specifications.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with Git, branching, pull requests, and code review.
- Experience testing, debugging, and supporting web applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with developers, designers, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organisation, documentation, problem-solving, and prioritisation skills.

Desirable Experience
- Experience integrating web platforms with AI, machine learning, image analysis, or other data-driven services.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, scientific, regulated, or compliance-led environments.
- Experience with component libraries, design systems, and accessible web-development standards.
- Experience with automated front-end, back-end, integration, or end-to-end testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration, and release management.
- Experience with performance optimisation, monitoring, logging, and production support.
