About Prevail Partners
Prevail Partners is a leading British intelligence, security, and operational support company. We help governments, NGOs, and commercial organisations operate safely and effectively in some of the world's most complex environments by combining intelligence, technology, and operational expertise. Our teams deliver actionable insight that helps clients manage risk, make informed decisions, and achieve meaningful operational impact where it matters most.
Our shared mission is to deliver unrelenting excellence in everything we do, underpinned by integrity, curiosity, accountability, and care.
About The Role
We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join our Platform & System Operations (PSO) team on a permanent basis.
Prevail's PSO team builds the tools and platforms of our technology landscape, used day to day by the intelligence analysts behind our client investigations. Today these solutions are highly specialised and application-specific, but they share the same backend core: Databricks, AWS, and Python, with React on the frontend where needed. We're bringing these tools together into a single, consolidated intelligence platform, and this role will play a part in that evolution.
As a Full Stack Engineer, you'll design, build, and maintain the applications that power our business - from APIs and services on our Python and AWS backend, through to the user interfaces intelligence analysts use directly, some of which are built in React. Our ambitions go beyond internal tooling: we're building towards a broader platform offering that, over time, we expect to extend to clients as well, and you'll play a part in shaping that as it grows. You'll work closely with the rest of the engineering team to turn requirements into reliable, well-engineered software.
This is a mid-level role suited to someone with solid full stack experience who is comfortable owning features end to end, wants to help shape a growing platform, and is motivated by building tools that have a genuine, tangible impact on real investigations. We're looking for someone who can find the balance between pragmatism and craftsmanship, knowing when to move fast and when to invest in the right foundations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain full stack features across our Databricks, Python, and AWS backend and the frontend of our internal tools, several of which are built in React.
- Work with Solution Engineers and analysts to understand requirements and translate them into well-architected, maintainable technical solutions.
- Build and maintain APIs and services on AWS that power our internal tools.
- Contribute to the ongoing consolidation of our application-specific tools into a single intelligence platform, helping define shared components and patterns.
- Write clean, tested, well-documented code, and participate in code review to help raise the bar across the team.
- Take ownership of features from design through deployment, including monitoring and support once in production.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues by working directly across the business to identify root causes.
- Help evolve our engineering practices, tooling, and CI/CD processes as the team and platform grow.
- Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to a collaborative, high-standard engineering culture.
- Maintain high standards of data security and information handling given the sensitive nature of the intelligence and client data our tools support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
