Full Stack Developer (Node.js + Java) | 100% Remote | UK Government | £360/day

We’re hiring a Full Stack Developer for a UK Government digital programme, and we want someone who’s done this before and knows their way around a GOV.UK service. 🇬🇧
The deal
- £360 per day, inside IR35
- 100% remote, with no travel at all (your slippers are approved 🩴)
- BPSS clearance only, so no long SC wait
- ASAP start
- Runs until end of March/April, so you’re sorted through winter ❄️

What you’ll get up to
- Building citizen-facing services from front end to back end
- Crafting accessible, user-friendly pages with the GOV.UK Design System
- Writing solid back-end services in Java and Spring Boot
- Shaping cloud infrastructure with AWS and Terraform
- Writing tests that let the whole team sleep at night 😴
Your toolkit
- Front end: Node.js, JavaScript, Express.js, Nunjucks, GOV.UK Design System
- Back end: Java, Spring Boot
- Data: MongoDB
- DevOps: Terraform, AWS
- Testing: Jest, Gherkin (BDD)
- Plus: a bit of scripting magic 🪄
Must-haves
- Prior UK Government experience. This is essential! 🇬🇧
- Strong Node.js/Express AND Java/Spring Boot skills
- Commercial full-stack experience
- Hands-on MongoDB, AWS and Terraform
- A test-first mindset (Jest and Gherkin/BDD)
- Able to obtain BPSS clearance
- Available to start ASAP
