About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, this Full Stack Developer role sits at the centre of GT Maritime's next phase of product development. The team is building the next generation of GT Maritime's platform — the layer where customers see what is happening across their entire fleet.
This hire will design and build partner API integrations across the cybersecurity stack — endpoint protection, network security, user awareness training, and SIEM/SOC tooling — and set the standard for test-driven development across the codebase. This is a hands-on, permanent role. You will not just build to spec — you will model TDD practice for the rest of the team through the code you write every day.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Responsibilities
Integration Development
- Design and build partner API integrations across GT Maritime's cybersecurity stack — endpoint protection, network security, user awareness training, and SIEM/SOC tooling.
- Write clean, modular, well-tested code following object-oriented design principles. Participate in code reviews and hold a high bar for what ships.
- Work within six-week Shape Up build cycles, collaborating with the Head of Engineering and Product on scoping, requirements, and effort estimation.
- Use AI-powered development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) as standard instruments throughout the development workflow.
Test-Driven Development & Quality
- Champion and model TDD practice across the team — write tests first, every time, and make that standard infectious.
- Own test coverage, regression strategy, and acceptance criteria validation for integration code.
- Contribute to post-release reviews and continuous improvement of the delivery process.
Security
- Promote secure coding practices and conduct security-focused code reviews aligned with ISO 27001 certification.
- Support vulnerability identification and remediation as part of the everyday development workflow.
- Enforce least-privilege access and secure infrastructure configuration across the integration layer.
DevOps & Infrastructure Awareness
- Work alongside DevOps to understand and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, AWS resource management, and deployment practices.
- Support monitoring, logging, and alerting improvements that help the team detect and resolve issues faster.
