About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer with a strong background in PHP development to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing and developing scalable web applications, with a keen interest in healthcare technology. Experience with Python is highly desirable, as it will play a significant role in supporting our AI-driven features and workflows.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the development and maintenance of the New Health platform, working closely with cross-functional teams including product management, marketing, clinical, and UX. You will be instrumental in shaping the technical architecture and making strategic decisions that impact both business growth and patient outcomes. Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial software development experience, with a strong emphasis on backend development.
- Extensive experience working with PHP in a production environment.
- Proven ability to integrate third-party APIs and design database-backed applications.
- Solid frontend development skills utilizing JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong understanding of Git and GitHub workflows for version control and collaboration.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Linux-based environments.
- Demonstrated ability to build secure, scalable, and maintainable production systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging and performance optimization.
- Effective communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain PHP-based web applications and backend services that support healthcare workflows.
- Build and optimize integrations with third-party APIs and healthcare systems to ensure seamless data exchange.
- Create secure and efficient solutions for AI-driven features, workflows, and data processing.
- Design, implement, and maintain MySQL databases and supporting infrastructure to ensure data integrity and performance.
- Develop responsive and user-friendly frontend interfaces using modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS frameworks.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, clinical, and UX teams to deliver new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize platform performance to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Contribute to the architecture, technical strategy, and engineering best practices within the team.
- Support deployment processes, monitor platform health, and participate in ongoing operational activities.

Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on backend systems.
- Strong expertise in PHP development and API integration.
- Experience designing and managing database-backed applications.
- Proficiency in frontend technologies including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub.
- Hands-on experience with Docker containers and Linux server environments.

- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tools.
- Experience working in high-growth technology environments.
AI-Assisted Development
AI-assisted development is integral to our workflow at MedPal AI. Candidates should be proficient with tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar modern development assistants. Maintaining strong engineering judgment and the ability to work independently when required are essential qualities for success in this role.
