Company Description
MedPal AI plc owns several subsidiaries with independent technical products. Our platform new.co.uk is growing rapidly and is dealing with over 300 orders per day at the time of posting this job ad. New Health is focused on providing prescription medication for common issues such as obesity and hair loss. We are in the process of expanding our offering but currently focusing heavily on GLP-1s.
Role Description
We are looking for a Full Stack Developer with demonstrable commercial experience in PHP. Python would be a massive bonus.
The successful candidate will work full time at our offices in Aldbury (near Tring). The offices are quite remote and we are currently in the process of refurbishing with high quality desks and chairs. There is a very nice cafe on site too. We can offer some flexibility for hybrid working but predominantly need you on site.
The successful candidate will predominantly be contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of the New Health web app and infrastructure.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Implementing and optimizing PHP-based back-end services
- Integrating APIs
- Ensuring secure, efficient data handling for AI-driven features
- Building and maintaining the responsive front-end interfaces
- Collaborating closely with product, marketing, clinical, and UX/UI teams

You'll have significant influence over the technical direction of a rapidly growing healthcare platform, working directly with senior leadership rather than through multiple layers of management.

Requirements
- Strong backend web development skills, including PHP, API integration, and database design and management
- Solid frontend development skills, including CSS, HTML, and JS
- Familiar with git and comfortable with GitHub
- Strong working knowledge of Docker and Linux
- Experience building secure, scalable web applications, ideally in health tech, AI, or data-intensive environments
- Ability to write clean, testable code, perform debugging, and collaborate in agile, cross-functional teams. Candidates should have a strong focus on clean code and efficiency
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent commercial experience
- Demonstrable commercial experience (at least 5 years)
- AI-assisted development is a core part of our workflow. Candidates should already be proficient with modern coding assistants such as Claude Code or equivalent tools, while maintaining strong engineering judgement and the ability to work independently of AI
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial

Salary Range
£65k-£75k depending on experience.

The Interview Process
The interview process will be straightforward. I'll have an initial interview with you over a video call, and we'll then invite our top candidates to the office to meet the team for a second interview.
