Job Title: Senior Full Stack Developer

Location: Stafford, hybrid 2 days per week in the office

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

A growing SaaS business is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join its development team and play a key role in the continued development of its platform.

This is a hands-on senior technical position for someone who is comfortable working across the full stack, while also bringing deeper expertise in an area that can add value to the wider engineering team.

You’ll work primarily with PHP, Laravel and Vue.js, taking ownership of complex development work, contributing to technical decisions and helping deliver robust, maintainable software.

We’re particularly interested in developers who have a technical specialism beyond core full-stack development. This could include AI, application security, architecture, DevOps, testing or another area where you can make a meaningful contribution.

This is an opportunity to have genuine technical ownership and influence rather than simply working through tickets within an established process.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design, develop and maintain high-quality software across the platform.
  • Work across backend and frontend development using PHP/Laravel and Vue.js.
  • Take ownership of complex technical problems and deliver pragmatic, scalable solutions.
  • Contribute to technical design and architectural decisions.
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
  • Build and maintain automated unit and feature tests.
  • Work with REST APIs, integrations and relational databases.
  • Investigate complex technical issues and identify effective solutions.
  • Review code and provide constructive technical feedback.
  • Mentor less experienced developers and share knowledge across the team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering practices, processes and software quality.
  • Work closely with QA, Product and wider stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
  • Take ownership of a technical area or specialist capability where appropriate.
  • Challenge existing approaches constructively and introduce improvements where they add value.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your Technical Edge

At this level, we’re looking for more than someone who is simply strong with Laravel. You should have genuine depth in at least one additional technical area that could benefit the wider engineering team.

This could include:

  • AI, LLMs or AI-assisted development
  • Application security
  • Software architecture
  • DevOps and cloud
  • Testing and quality engineering
  • Performance and scalability
  • Another relevant technical specialism

Experience with AWS, Docker, Node.js, TypeScript, Vue 3, CI/CD or SaaS platforms would also be valuable.

You’ll be someone who:

  • Takes genuine ownership of complex technical problems.
  • Thinks logically and approaches challenges pragmatically.
  • Is comfortable getting hands-on with code.
  • Knows when to work independently and when to ask for input.
  • Communicates clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Enjoys collaborating and sharing knowledge.
  • Is comfortable constructively challenging existing approaches.
  • Brings ideas and looks for ways to improve how things are done.
  • Can mentor and support less experienced developers.
  • Can clearly explain what you’ve built, the decisions you made and the problems you solved.

If you’re a technically strong Full Stack Developer who wants more ownership, influence and scope than a typical senior developer role, this could be a strong opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
