About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our dynamic team in Belfast. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a ground-floor project, building a brand-new, cloud-native trading platform from scratch. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with Principal Engineers, architects, and external cloud partners to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable microservices within a modern architecture. This role offers a hybrid working model, combining the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of in-office collaboration. You will have the chance to influence technical decisions, contribute to architectural discussions, and mentor junior engineers, shaping the future of our trading platform and engineering culture.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over 5 years of experience in full stack, front-end, or back-end engineering, with a strong focus on TypeScript and React. Proficiency in Redux, React Query, HTML5, and CSS3 is essential, along with backend experience in TypeScript, C#, or Java. A solid understanding of AWS services such as Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway, or AppSync is required, complemented by experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, and WebSockets. Candidates should have a working knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and microservices architecture, along with containerization tools like Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with pub/sub messaging systems such as SOLACE or AMQP and automated testing across various levels is also necessary. Experience working within Agile teams using Git, JIRA, and Linux or PowerShell is highly desirable. Additional qualifications include a good grasp of OOP and SOLID principles, and experience in financial markets or trading systems is a plus.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
