Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9.30am – 6pm
Salary: depending on experience
Location: Gas Ferry Road, Bristol, Hybrid working with a minimum 3 days in the office
The Department:
Aardman’s Core Development Team develops, manages and maintains software, applications, and third-party services across the company. The team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining internal corporate applications, and evaluating, selecting and implementing new technology, external services and software where required, and ensuring that any solutions integrate with existing systems and benefit the company.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Solutions Architect and working closely with the Core Development Team, you will provide front-end and system design, development and deployment expertise. The role supports the delivery of internal and external-facing business systems across the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Modernise existing systems and develop new applications using current frameworks, tools and development practices.
- Work within established development standards and pipelines, while helping the team improve these over time.
- Contribute to technical planning, solution design and the evaluation of new technologies.
- Apply agreed improvements that strengthen team capability, application quality and delivery performance.

The Candidate:
We're looking for a proactive and collaborative developer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who enjoys building software and delivering practical solutions to address business challenges. You'll be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues, and producing maintainable, well-documented code.
We value curiosity, continuous improvement and passion for modern web development. The ideal candidate will enjoy learning new technologies, creating intuitive user experiences, sharing knowledge with colleagues and contributing ideas that help improve the applications and services we deliver.
You will need at least 3 years commercial software development experience in a professional development environment using React and TypeScript for developing and maintaining web applications and ASP.NET and C# applications in production environments.
