Full-Stack Developer (PnL Control – Java, Scala, Python, Spark)

A tier-one global investment bank is expanding its Finance Technology function, building out the core accounting systems that power PnL and Balance Sheet reporting for Secured Funding Transactions. The PnL Control team sits at the intersection of technology and finance, translating complex accounting logic for repos and stock loan products into robust, scalable engineering solutions.

You will work across the full technology stack, from Java/Scala on Spark through to UI delivery, partnering closely with project managers and internal Finance clients throughout the full development life cycle.

Location: London

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Core Accounting Systems: Design and develop accounting and reporting solutions for PnL and Balance Sheet across Secured Funding Transactions.
  • Engineer Across the Stack: Deliver end-to-end using Java, Scala and Python on the Spark framework, extending into UI technologies such as WPF and Angular.
  • Translate Finance Logic to Tech: Work closely with PnL controllers and internal Finance stakeholders to understand secured funding products and convert business requirements into clean, well-tested code.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
