Full Stack Engineer

Manchester (2 days per week onsite)
Inside IR35

We're looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join a high-profile digital product team delivering customer-facing experiences at global scale. Working within a modern cloud-native environment, you'll help build innovative search and engagement capabilities that enhance how millions of users interact with leading digital platforms.

This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of AI-assisted software engineering, combining hands-on development across frontend and backend technologies with the latest AI-driven development tools and methodologies.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Developing and enhancing customer-facing web applications and services.
  • Building modern frontend solutions using React, TypeScript, and micro frontend architectures.
  • Designing and developing backend services using Java and cloud-native technologies.
  • Working closely with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to translate requirements into high-quality solutions.
  • Leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality and reliability.
  • Contributing to API development, integrations, and scalable platform services.
  • Supporting performance, monitoring, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participating in Agile ceremonies and collaborating across multiple engineering teams.

Key Skills Required

  • Strong commercial experience as a Full Stack Engineer.
  • Excellent Java development experience, including modern web services and APIs.
  • Strong frontend expertise with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
  • Experience working with Micro Frontends (MFE) and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architectures.
  • Proven experience with AWS and cloud-based deployment environments.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and scalable distributed systems.
  • Experience with Git, automated testing, and modern software engineering best practices.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaborative working skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Agentic AI, AI-powered development tools, or AI-enabled product features.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD tooling.
  • Understanding of monitoring, observability, SLIs, and SLOs.
  • Experience working on large-scale consumer-facing platforms.
  • Knowledge of experimentation, analytics, and A/B testing environments.
