Full-Stack Software Engineer – Java / TypeScript / React / AWS
Location: Manchester
Rate: £90 per hour (Inside IR35)
Duration: Six months
A leading global technology organisation is looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join a new team developing customer-facing features across its web and mobile platforms.
This role covers micro frontends, Backend-for-Frontend services and Java-based backend components running on AWS. You will take ownership of features from initial design through to testing, release and continuous improvement.
The team uses Agentic AI tools such as Claude, Codex and internal agents to support development. You will provide clear specifications and technical direction, then review and test the generated code to ensure it meets the required standards.

Responsibilities
- Develop customer-facing features using Java, TypeScript and React.
- Build micro frontends, BFF services and Java-based APIs.
- Develop and deploy cloud-based services on AWS.
- Use Agentic AI tools to support software development.
- Review, test and take ownership of AI-generated code.
- Work closely with Product Managers, UX Designers and other engineers.
- Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
- Monitor applications, resolve issues and improve system reliability.
- Continuously test and improve released features.
Required experience

- At least three years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong Java backend development skills.
- Frontend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React or Vue.js.
- Experience developing REST or GraphQL APIs.
- Strong commercial AWS experience.
- Experience using Agentic AI tools to develop software.
- Experience building customer-facing digital products.
- Unit and integration testing experience.
Desirable experience
- Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.
- SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Monitoring, scalability, SLIs and SLOs.
- A/B testing, recommendation systems or customer-engagement platforms.
- Experience working on products used by a large global customer base.
