Full Stack Software Engineer - (Vue.js and Node.js) - £50,000 - £70,000 – Financial Services – Basingstoke (Hybrid)

Overview

We are currently searching for an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join a growing Financial Services company. You’ll work across front-end and backend development, building customer-facing digital products, APIs and integrations across greenfield projects and wider digital initiatives.

The role offers the opportunity to work end-to-end, from development and testing through to deployment and support.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop full-stack applications using Vue.js, TypeScript and Node.js and/or PHP.
  • Build and enhance responsive, high-performing customer-facing digital products.
  • Develop and integrate backend services, APIs and integrations.
  • Deliver features end-to-end, from development and testing through to deployment and support.
  • Build and maintain reusable component libraries and consistent UI components.
  • Contribute to application architecture, code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work closely with developers, QA, Business Analysts, DevOps, CRM, design and marketing teams.
  • Apply best practices around performance, security, resilience and scalability.
  • Contribute to A/B testing and user experiments to improve customer conversion.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Technical Requirements

  • 3+ years’ commercial software development experience across both front-end and backend.
  • Strong experience with Vue 3 (Composition API) and TypeScript.
  • Commercial experience with Node.js (v24+) and/or PHP (v8+), ideally using Laravel or a comparable framework.
  • Experience with MySQL, including data modelling, schema design, indexing, query optimisation and migrations.
  • Experience building and integrating APIs and backend services.
  • Experience building reusable component libraries, including form and input components with validation.
  • Strong knowledge of Tailwind CSS (v4+), Vite and Storybook.
  • Experience with Git/GitLab and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Experience with unit testing, automated testing and ESLint.
  • Good understanding of SOLID principles, software development practices, application performance, security (OWASP), scalability and cross-browser compatibility.
  • A commitment to keeping up with modern development tools, technologies and best practices.
