Rate: Competitive (inside IR35)
Contract Length: Initial 6-month contract with strong likelihood of extension (multi-year programme)
Start Date: ASAP (notice periods considered)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join a strategic Asset Servicing technology programme within a leading financial services organisation. This is an opportunity to work on a large-scale greenfield platform build, replacing both a legacy in-house system and an external vendor solution. The programme has long-term investment and a significant delivery roadmap ahead.
The successful candidate will join a globally distributed engineering team responsible for designing and developing scalable, modern applications that support critical asset servicing and post-trade operations. Candidates can be stronger on either front-end or back-end development, but must have proven full-stack engineering experience and a strong understanding of modern software architecture principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and enhance modern full-stack applications supporting asset servicing workflows.
- Contribute to solution design, architecture discussions and strategic technology decisions.
- Develop scalable user-facing applications and backend services within a microservices architecture.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams and engineers across multiple locations.
- Ensure high standards of software engineering through testing, code reviews and best practice adoption.
- Drive improvements across CI/CD, automation and software delivery processes.
- Support integration, deployment and production readiness activities.
- Influence technical direction and contribute to architectural evolution across the platform.
- Work effectively within a globally distributed Agile delivery environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
