Senior Full Stack Engineer – React / TypeScript / Node.js / AWS
We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who enjoys working on complex existing systems — stabilising codebases, improving reliability and making products easier to scale and maintain.
At Vertex, we work with ambitious companies on challenging technology problems. This opportunity is with a SaaS product supporting.
But here's the challenge:
- ⚠️ The existing codebase needs stabilising.
- ⚠️ Too much knowledge sits with individual developers.
- ⚠️ Releases and quality need to improve.
- ⚠️ The architecture needs to become more modular and scalable.
So, we're looking for engineers who enjoy getting their hands dirty.

- PostgreSQL & Drizzle ORM
- AWS Lambda, SQS, API Gateway & Cognito
- Terraform
- React Native
- Monorepo & shared type-safe contracts
🎯 What we're looking for
- Strong commercial experience with React + TypeScript
- Strong Node.js backend/API development experience
- Good experience with PostgreSQL and database migrations
- Hands-on AWS experience, particularly Lambda and SQS
- Experience with FIFO, DLQ, retries and idempotency
- Experience working with monorepos and shared types
- Strong testing experience with Vitest, Playwright and integration testing
- Experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- Strong understanding of scalable, modular architecture
- Comfortable working with and improving an existing codebase
- Senior-level ownership and problem-solving mindset
