About The Role

The SVP - GenAI Full-Stack Engineer Lead is a strategic leadership position responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of enterprise-scale AI-powered solutions within Citi’s technology ecosystem. This role requires a hands-on engineering leader who is passionate about building innovative products leveraging Generative AI and modern engineering practices. The successful candidate will provide technical guidance across full-stack environments, including frontend, backend, APIs, and cloud services, ensuring the delivery of scalable, resilient, and high-performing applications that support critical business functions. The role involves collaborating with senior stakeholders to align technological strategies with organizational goals, driving adoption of cutting-edge AI technologies, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of global finance through technology, working in a hybrid environment based in London, United Kingdom.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading software engineering teams in a hands-on technical capacity
  • Strong proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Go, TypeScript, JavaScript, or React
  • Experience delivering AI-enabled or Generative AI solutions within enterprise environments
  • Extensive knowledge of building cloud-native applications using Kubernetes, containers, microservices, and event-driven architectures
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resiliency patterns, and performance engineering
  • Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL database technologies, API design, and integration patterns
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to influence cross-functional teams
  • Experience mentoring technical teams and fostering a culture of technical excellence
  • Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning and innovation

Responsibilities

  • Drive the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale applications supporting critical business operations
  • Remain actively involved in software architecture, system design, code reviews, and engineering decision-making processes
  • Set and execute the technical strategy across full-stack ecosystems, including frontend, backend, APIs, and cloud services
  • Collaborate with senior technology and business stakeholders to ensure platform strategies align with organizational priorities
  • Lead high-visibility, business-critical programs and initiatives with operational and executive impact
  • Champion engineering best practices, DevSecOps principles, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and develop engineering managers, principal engineers, and senior engineers to cultivate a culture of technical excellence and accountability
  • Promote the adoption of developer platforms, automation capabilities, and enterprise engineering standards across multiple teams
