Full Stack Software Engineer - Python & React
Location: London (4 days onsite)
The Opportunity
Signify have partnered with an exciting client who are looking for a senior full stack engineer to help build and scale the web platforms our business depends on. You'll have real technical ownership taking features from idea to production, working across the full stack, and acting as a trusted expert within a collaborative engineering team. This is a role for someone who enjoys variety: one day you're deep in database schema design, the next you're pairing on a React component or mentoring a colleague through a tricky bug.
We work in a flexible hybrid model, with time split between our offices and remote work.
Requirements
- 5+ years building data-intensive, high-performance web applications in a professional setting
- Strong hands-on Python development with Django experience
- Confident working in Linux/UNIX environments
- React Experience (NextJS or ExtJS exposure is a bonus)
- Comfortable with HTML5/CSS3 and building clean, functional interfaces
- Practical experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar), including writing and optimising SQL
- Exposure to Apache or comparable web server setups
- A track record of writing solid automated tests and validating changes before release

What the Role Involves
Building & Shipping
You'll design and deliver features end-to-end front-end UI, backend services, and the underlying data layer and see them through from planning to live deployment. You'll also take the lead on coordinating feature delivery across teams when needed, essentially acting as the technical point person.

Testing is part of how you build, not an afterthought. You'll write automated tests, catch issues before they reach production, and help troubleshoot when something goes wrong. You'll also support production systems directly, including occasional out-of-hours work to keep things running smoothly during critical periods.
Team & Process
You'll be an active voice in sprint planning, code reviews, and technical discussions, and you'll help less experienced engineers grow whether that's through mentoring, pairing, or just being the person people come to for a particular system or technology.
Documentation & Communication
You'll help gather requirements, write clear technical specs, and keep documentation up to date and you'll be comfortable explaining technical decisions to stakeholders outside engineering.
