Full Stack Engineer | London - Hybrid | Up to £85,000
I’m working with a fast-growing technology business that is transforming how people manage and interact with complex financial data through innovative software, advanced analytics and AI.
They’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join their growing engineering team, with a focus on React, TypeScript and backend development using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot. This is a hands-on role within an engineering organisation that has genuinely embraced agentic AI, giving developers the autonomy to experiment with new tools, build smarter workflows and fundamentally improve how software is delivered.
You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of features across the stack, contribute to architectural decisions and work in an environment where engineers are trusted to make decisions, challenge existing approaches and drive things forward.
What you’ll be doing:
- Building and developing scalable, user-facing features using React, JavaScript and TypeScript
- Taking ownership of features across the full development lifecycle, from initial design through to deployment
- Developing backend services using Java, Kotlin and Spring Boot within a microservices architecture
- Using agentic AI tools such as Claude Code, MCPs and custom skills to accelerate development and improve engineering workflows
- Reviewing, testing and refining AI-generated code to ensure quality, security and maintainability
- Working with APIs, databases and event-driven architectures to deliver new functionality
- Collaborating with product, design and engineering teams to deliver high-quality features
- Exploring new AI tools and techniques, helping shape how the wider engineering team builds and ships software

What we’re looking for:
- 3+ years' commercial experience in software engineering, ideally with a full stack background
- Strong JavaScript, TypeScript and React experience, alongside backend development experience
- Experience with Java or Kotlin, ideally using Spring Boot
- Regular, hands-on experience using AI-assisted or agentic development tools, ideally Claude Code, MCPs or custom skills
- Strong engineering fundamentals, including testing, clean architecture, API integration and code quality
- Someone who can critically assess AI-generated code and apply sound engineering judgement
- A self-starter who enjoys taking ownership, working autonomously and solving problems independently
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a small, cross-functional engineering team
- Exposure to microservices, Kafka, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker or Kubernetes would be advantageous
