I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You Will Do
- Ship end-to-end features across the entire stack, from MCU device firmware and Rust backends to the mobile app and internal creative authoring tools.

- Connect software to the physical world by managing sensor data from IMUs and proximity sensors to ensure reliable device state and high-fidelity audio playback.
The ideal candidate
- Several years of experience shipping production software with fluency in Rust, Python, and TypeScript, spanning backend APIs, data models, and internal frontend tools.
- Proven ability to navigate the full hardware-software stack, tracing and fixing bugs that live anywhere from device firmware to the high-level model orchestration layer.
- Scrappy, autonomous problem-solver with production-grade instincts for reliability and a deep interest in making child safety a core technical foundation of the product.
