Senior Full Stack Software Engineer
£100,000–£110,000 + benefits
UK-based | Hybrid – London 2 days per week
Certus Recruitment is working with an ambitious UK fintech building a regulated stablecoin and digital payments platform.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join at an early stage and help build the application, financial infrastructure and settlement technology behind the platform.
This is a highly hands-on role, working closely with the Head of Engineering across back-end services, core systems and customer-facing applications.
The role
You will work across:
- Back-end services and transaction workflows
- Financial transaction and settlement systems
- Compliance and authorisation logic
- Database design and transactional integrity
- APIs, event-driven architecture and shared schemas
- Customer-facing and internal applications
- Blockchain and on-chain settlement integration

You’ll be turning architecture and design documentation into robust, tested and production-ready software.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years' professional software engineering experience
- Strong back-end engineering experience
- Experience taking systems from prototype through to production
- Strong TypeScript and PostgreSQL/SQL skills
- Experience with strongly typed languages
- Rust experience is highly desirable, or a strong systems background with the ability to learn quickly
- Experience with event-driven and transactional systems
- Strong written communication and a design-led approach
- Collaborative, hands-on and comfortable taking ownership
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking, custody or financial infrastructure would be advantageous.

Blockchain or stablecoin experience isn't essential, but you'll need an interest in developing your knowledge of on-chain systems.
The opportunity

You'll have significant ownership across the stack, working on systems that will ultimately move from sandbox to regulated production.
