Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) – TypeScript, React, AWS | Belfast (Hybrid)

About the Opportunity
A well established financial markets technology business is partnering with AWS to build the next generation of its core trading platform from the ground up, using modern cloud native architecture.
This is a newly formed engineering team working directly alongside AWS specialists, giving you exposure to best practice cloud engineering while shaping a platform used across the business day to day.
As a Senior Engineer you will take ownership of design, development, testing and deployment across your area, working closely with a Principal Engineer, Architects and Leads to bring new services safely into production.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the design, build, testing and deployment of full stack services within the platform
- Drive engineering improvements and clearly communicate the reasoning behind technical decisions
- Lead conversations on estimation, drawing on prior experience to challenge requirements constructively
- Shape wider system architecture through meaningful technical discussion with the engineering team
- Evolve systems toward the target architecture through refactoring and delivery prioritisation
- Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development
- Support a well defined SDLC covering planning, prioritisation and delivery
- Collaborate with BAs and POs to remove ambiguity and challenge requirements where needed

What You'll Bring
Essential:
- 5+ years professional experience as a Full Stack or Front/Back End Engineer in TypeScript
- Front end: HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, React, Redux, ReactQuery
- Experience with Tailwind or similar CSS pre-processors
- Back end: proficiency in TypeScript and/or another OOP language such as C# or Java
- Strong SQL and NoSQL database knowledge
- REST and GraphQL APIs, and WebSockets
- Microservices architecture and containerisation
- AWS ecosystem including Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway and AppSync
- Terraform and CI/CD within an enterprise environment
- Automated testing including unit, integration and end to end
- Experience with pub/sub messaging patterns (e.g. Solace, AMQP)
- Git version control and Agile delivery using tools such as JIRA
- Comfortable working within low latency, event driven production environments

Desirable / Nice to Have:
- Demonstrable C# (.NET 8+) experience in a professional environment
- Contributions to open source projects
- Experience of regulatory driven projects, or knowledge of financial markets and OTC products
