What You'll Do
As Full-Stack Engineer Director within Tech@BCG’s IT & Business Platforms engineering organization, you will set the technical direction for the Frontier Self-Service Experience Platform, owning architecture decisions and technical delivery end-to-end across front-end, back-end, integrations, AI components, and cloud infrastructure. You will define engineering standards and best practices, lead the evolution of our technology stack, and act as the senior technical authority for design reviews, build-vs-buy decisions, and platform scalability, resilience, and security. Partnering closely with Product Management and senior engineering leaders, you will translate ambitious product roadmaps into a coherent, maintainable technical architecture that can scale across a large, global, matrixed organization.
You will lead and develop a distributed team of engineers and engineering managers, driving delivery of high-quality, high-impact products while coaching the next generation of technical leaders. You will chair architecture and governance forums with senior stakeholders, resolve escalated or highly ambiguous technical challenges, and represent full-stack engineering in broader technology governance—including integration points with platform engineering, DevSecOps, security, and enterprise architecture. You are expected to operate with a high degree of independence, exercising sound judgment on complex, business-critical decisions with limited oversight.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Proven track record leading and developing distributed engineering teams and engineering managers within a global, matrixed organization, including setting technical standards and mentoring senior engineers (must have).
