About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer with expertise in Java and Angular to join Morson Edge's dynamic development team. This is a fully remote, permanent position based in the UK, offering an exciting opportunity to work on high-scale applications within a modern AWS cloud environment. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing large-scale, distributed systems that serve a broad user base. Your role will involve designing new features, improving existing services, and solving complex technical challenges, all while influencing the technical direction of the team. You will also have the opportunity to lead by example, mentoring junior engineers and supporting the adoption of best practices across the organization.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software engineering with significant experience in Java and Angular development. You should have a proven track record of working within large-scale cloud environments, particularly AWS, and a solid understanding of REST APIs and distributed systems. Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical decisions are essential. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant certifications or professional development in cloud technologies and modern development practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and resilient applications within a large-scale AWS cloud environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
  • Implement new features and improve existing services, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Participate in architectural discussions, making pragmatic decisions that balance technical excellence with business needs.
  • Lead technical initiatives, setting standards and best practices for the engineering team.
  • Mentor and support less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Contribute to code reviews, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
  • Engage in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving complex technical issues to ensure system stability.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating relevant innovations into the development process.
  • Support the deployment and operational aspects of applications, ensuring smooth integration and performance in the cloud environment.
