Full Stack Software Engineer
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid)
Salary: £60,000 + Benefits

We're partnering with a growing technology business that's transforming vehicle logistics through innovative software, optimisation algorithms, and machine learning. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented software engineer to work on industry-leading route optimisation solutions that have a tangible impact across the automotive sector.
We're looking for someone with an outstanding academic background and/or an impressive career trajectory who enjoys solving complex technical problems. While this is a full-stack engineering role, we're particularly interested in candidates with strong algorithmic thinking and a passion for building high-performance software.
Working within a collaborative engineering team, you'll contribute to the development of optimisation algorithms, cloud-based applications, and scalable software across both backend and frontend technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimise high-performance software with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
- Develop and enhance optimisation algorithms and intelligent decision-making systems.
- Build and maintain backend services using .NET and EF Core, or comparable modern backend technologies.
- Contribute to frontend development using JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
- Support machine learning and optimisation models within production applications.
- Develop and maintain cloud-hosted applications and services within AWS.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver innovative technical solutions.
- Apply software engineering best practices across architecture, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial software engineering experience in Python, C++, Rust, and/or.NET.
- Excellent understanding of algorithms, data structures, and computational problem-solving.
- Experience developing scalable applications.
- Strong object-oriented programming and software design skills.
- Knowledge of optimisation techniques, mathematical modelling, or machine learning would be great.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Exposure to AWS or other cloud-native technologies.
- Experience working on optimisation, logistics, routing, simulation, or other computationally complex systems would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
