Full-Stack Engineer (Java / AWS / Angular) – UK

Valcon is a north-western European consulting, technology, and data company with offices in the UK, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, and Croatia. We are private-equity backed and one of the fastest-growing consultancies in Europe, bringing together some of the most exciting technology and consulting teams.

We are looking for self-motivated, logical, and intellectually curious Full-Stack Software Engineers to join our expanding Software Engineering capability in the UK. This is an opportunity to help shape the technical landscape while delivering a variety of challenging projects.

As a Full-Stack Engineer at Valcon, you will work in small, multi-disciplinary teams to design, develop, and implement innovative software solutions.

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java backend services and APIs.
  • Build front-end applications using Angular for modern, responsive user interfaces.
  • Develop cloud-native solutions on AWS, including services like Lambda, Fargate, Cognito, and RDS (Postgres).
  • Own features end-to-end, collaborating closely with clients and project teams.
  • Contribute to technical decisions, architecture discussions, and code quality practices.

Experience & Skills

  • Strong experience in Java backend development (Spring Boot or equivalent).
  • Experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, Fargate, RDS, Cognito).
  • Experience with Angular (or similar modern front-end frameworks).
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD, version control (Git), and infrastructure-as-code principles.
  • Customer-focused with strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic project environment and managing change effectively.
