Full Stack Software Engineer

Location - Gloucester (Hybrid)
Salary - Negotiable DoE

Please note candidates must be eligible for DV Clearance.

Copello are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team working on complex, data-intensive systems.

This role will focus on developing scalable applications and data-processing solutions using Java, Spring Boot and big data technologies, while contributing to automation, reliability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing scalable applications and services using Java and Spring Boot
  • Designing and maintaining big data processing solutions and data pipelines
  • Working with large and complex datasets
  • Using Hadoop and distributed data technologies
  • Automating configuration and deployment using Ansible
  • Using GitLab for source control and CI/CD
  • Applying SRE principles to improve system reliability, performance and availability
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting and supporting production services
  • Contributing to incident investigation and root-cause analysis
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement
  • Working closely with technical and product stakeholders
  • Contributing to engineering standards, documentation and best practice

You’ll Have

  • Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Experience in big data engineering and large-scale data processing
  • Hands-on experience with Hadoop or similar distributed technologies
  • Experience working with large or complex datasets
  • Knowledge of Ansible and infrastructure automation
  • Experience with GitLab and CI/CD
  • A good understanding of SRE principles, monitoring and production support
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • A collaborative approach and a passion for building reliable, high-quality software
