Full Stack / AWS Developer – PHP, React & AWS

Contract Details

  • Initial duration: 5 weeks with a view to extension
  • Day rate: £450–£500 DOE
  • IR35: Outside IR35
  • Location: Fully remote
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Interview process: Fast-moving – interview and hire can potentially be completed within 24 hours

There is an immediate requirement, so candidates who are available at short notice or immediately will be particularly well suited.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack / Cloud Developer to join our client's engineering team on an urgent, delivery-focused project. This is an initial five-week engagement focused on the containerisation and deployment of application services within AWS, alongside the development of a new web-based dashboard using a PHP API/backend and React front end.

Given the short initial duration, this is very much a hands-on coding role. You’ll need to get up to speed quickly with an existing environment, work closely with the wider engineering team and contribute production-ready code from an early stage.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Containerising existing applications and services for deployment within AWS.
  • Supporting the configuration, deployment and integration of containerised services within the existing AWS environment.
  • Developing and extending a PHP-based API/backend to expose application functionality and data.
  • Building a modern web-based dashboard using React.
  • Integrating the React front end with PHP APIs and cloud-hosted services.
  • Working across the full stack to deliver a functioning end-to-end solution.
  • Understanding the existing application and cloud architecture and working within established technical patterns.
  • Troubleshooting integration, deployment and application issues as they arise.
  • Working closely with the wider engineering team to deliver against immediate project requirements.
  • Producing clean, maintainable and production-ready code within a fast-moving delivery environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience with AWS container services such as ECS, ECR or Fargate, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure/configuration within AWS would be particularly useful.

The Ideal Contractor

This assignment will suit someone who is comfortable joining an existing project and getting productive quickly rather than requiring a lengthy onboarding period.

You should be a pragmatic, hands-on engineer who can understand an existing codebase and architecture, identify what needs to be delivered and work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider development team.

The ability to work across PHP, React, containers and AWS is more important than being purely specialised in one area.
