About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a prestigious global investment bank. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and scaling of cloud-native applications within the risk management domain. You will play a pivotal role in driving end-to-end development processes using modern programming languages and cloud technologies. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will help build robust, scalable, and high-performance systems that support critical banking operations. The position is based in London, offering a hybrid work model with three days onsite and two days remote, providing flexibility while fostering collaboration.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in full stack development, with a strong background in financial services or related industries. You should have proven expertise in Java and Kotlin for backend development, coupled with extensive experience in React for frontend interfaces. Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes, is essential. Candidates must demonstrate a solid understanding of RESTful API design, event-driven architectures, and real-time data processing frameworks such as Kafka and Flink. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred, along with relevant certifications in cloud or DevOps technologies.

Responsibilities
- Architecture & Development: Build and maintain high-performance frontend and backend systems using Java, Kotlin, ReactJS, and modern state management libraries such as Redux or Context API. Ensure the applications are scalable, reliable, and secure.
- API & Event Integration: Design and implement RESTful APIs, gRPC services, and event-driven architectures utilizing Kafka and Flink for real-time data processing and analytics.
- Cloud & DevOps: Deploy, monitor, and optimize cloud-native applications on AWS and Kubernetes environments. Support automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment workflows.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, enforce coding standards, conduct code reviews, and drive performance improvements across teams.
- Domain Knowledge Application: Leverage understanding of investment banking processes and risk management principles to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
Technical Requirements
- Backend: Proficiency in Core Java, Kotlin, multithreading, algorithms, data structures, RESTful APIs, and gRPC.
- Frontend: Expertise in ReactJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Redux or Context API, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Cloud & Streaming Technologies: Experience with AWS Lambda, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Flink for streaming data processing.
- Process & Security: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and adherence to security compliance standards.
