About The Company

An AI-native workspace initially designed for investment banking, private equity, consultancies, and asset managers. You'll work alongside two well-known founders who successfully sold their last two YC-backed companies. The company has raised double figures from Y Combinator and top-tier venture firms. With strong product-market fit and live production deployments at some of the world's largest and most prestigious institutions, the team is working across offices in New York, London, and Hong Kong to become the leading AI application platform for enterprise.

The Role

This AI-native workspace is revolutionizing investment research for finance professionals by automating company profiling and background research, dramatically reducing analyst workload. Recently post-Series A (valuation £375–750M), the company is scaling rapidly following strong product-market fit and high-profile enterprise adoption. This Full-Stack Engineer role is a critical hire as the company expands to double its engineering team, with a focus on backend-heavy, high-impact product development alongside elite technical founders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You'll Do

  • Own both frontend (React, Next.js) and backend (Python — FastAPI/Django) for production systems.
  • Build and maintain containerized, orchestrated infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes) with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deploy and manage applications on cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable).
  • Implement background workers/task queues (Celery, RQ) and use Redis in production.
  • Collaborate in Git-based workflows with daily standups and high communication standards.
  • Contribute to engineering best practices and mentor team members as the team scales.

Who We're Looking For

5–10 years of professional software engineering experience (minimum 18 months per role), with proven production expertise in React and Next.js and deep backend development skills in Python (FastAPI/Django preferred). Strong hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, containerization, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure is required, along with experience implementing task queues and using Redis in production. A degree from a top university (Oxbridge, Imperial, UCL, Durham, Edinburgh, or Ivy League), ideally first-class with a Master's, is required.

The environment is high-performance, ambitious, and intellectually rigorous — founders have a strong track record and expect world-class standards. The team is collaborative but fast-paced, with daily standups and high communication requirements. Equity has significant potential upside.

Required:

  • Shipped production systems using React/Next.js and Python (FastAPI/Django) at a high-growth startup.
  • Degree (ideally first-class, Master's) from Imperial, Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Durham, Edinburgh, or Ivy League.
  • Direct experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and Azure cloud deployments.
  • Tenure of 18+ months per role, with career moves showing upward trajectory or variety.
  • Demonstrated impact on engineering best practices and team mentorship.
  • Experience in AI product companies or fintech/financial services tech teams.

Not a fit if you:

  • Don't hold a degree from the top-tier universities listed above.
  • Are a pure ML engineer or data scientist without a strong software engineering track record.
  • Have less than 5 or more than 12 years of professional experience.
  • Are frontend-only or backend-only (this role requires genuinely full-stack, backend-heavy engineers).
  • Have held titles consistently labeled "Developer" rather than "Engineer."
  • Lack production experience with React/Next.js and Python.
