Job Title
Our client is a 16-person London-based AI startup that recently raised $50M in Series A funding. They are building an enterprise-first AI platform serving customers across manufacturing, automotive, retail, and financial services.
They are now hiring 2–3 Forward Deployed Engineers to work directly with customers on complex demos, pilots, and production deployments.
Working model: ~4 days per week in the London office
Travel: Up to 50%, nationally and internationally
Type: Permanent, full-time
Visa: No sponsorship available
The Role
This is a customer-facing Full-Stack/ Forward Deployed Engineer role for a hands-on engineer who can understand customer problems, design solutions, and personally build and ship AI-enabled production software. You’ll work closely with customers and the core engineering team, taking projects from problem discovery through to production.

What You'll Do
- Work directly with customers to understand their technical challenges.
- Design and build scalable AI-powered applications.
- Develop across the stack using React, TypeScript, and Python.
- Build AI functionality using tools such as LangChain and Vercel AI SDK.
- Own projects from initial discovery and architecture through deployment.
- Deliver complex customer demos, prototypes, and pilots.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to turn customer insights into product improvements.
Requirements
- 1–5 years’ experience as a Full-Stack Engineer, FDE, or similar.
- 1+ year shipping production code in a startup and/or customer-facing environment — essential.
- Strong React, TypeScript, and Python skills.
- Experience with AI/LLM tooling, ideally LangChain and/or Vercel AI SDK.
- Strong system design and software architecture skills.
- Ability to turn ambiguous customer problems into scalable technical solutions.
- Problem-first, pragmatic mindset rather than being tied to a specific technology.
- Strong STEM degree from a good university.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Collaborative, low-ego team player.
- UK-based and comfortable with up to 50% travel.
