Senior Java Full Stack Developer
Location: Canary Wharf, London
Hybrid: 3 days per week in the office
Salary: Competitive + Bonus + Benefits
Build enterprise software while embracing AI powered development.
We're looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer to join a highly collaborative engineering team responsible for delivering large scale enterprise applications within a global financial services organisation. This is an opportunity to work on modern software engineering projects where AI assisted development is actively encouraged. You'll use tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude or similar technologies alongside modern engineering practices to help deliver high quality, scalable software solutions. The team is open to speaking with strong Full Stack Developers as well as experienced Back End Java Engineers who have a passion for building robust enterprise systems.

What you'll be doing
- Develop enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices
- Design scalable, high quality software solutions
- Collaborate with Product, QA and Engineering teams
- Write clean, well tested, maintainable code
- Participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Use AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude to accelerate development
- Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering best practice

What we're looking for
- Strong commercial Java development experience
- Spring Boot and REST API development
- Object Oriented Design and Design Patterns
- SQL and relational database experience
- Angular, TypeScript, HTML and CSS (desirable)
- JUnit, BDD or automated testing frameworks
- Linux or Unix experience
- Agile software development experience
- Hands on use of GitHub Copilot, Claude or similar AI development tools
- Excellent communication and collaborative working style
