Senior Full-Stack Engineer / Technical Lead – Digital Banking

Location: London
Contract: Contract
Start: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack Engineer / Technical Lead to join a major digital banking technology programme in London.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong experience across Java, Spring Boot, Node.js and React, alongside Oracle Database and Azure cloud deployment. You will also provide technical leadership, contribute to solution architecture and help drive high-quality delivery across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deliver scalable full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js and React.
  • Contribute to and review solution architectures, technical designs and implementation approaches.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams.
  • Drive engineering standards, coding best practices and overall solution quality.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Business Stakeholders, Enterprise Architects and Delivery Teams.
  • Support engineering teams throughout the end-to-end delivery lifecycle.
  • Contribute to large-scale digital banking transformation and migration programmes.
  • Develop and integrate APIs, microservices and cloud-native solutions.
  • Work with Oracle Database and Azure deployment platforms.
  • Contribute to event-driven solutions using Kafka where required.

  • Strong Java development experience.

  • Hands-on Azure experience, ideally with Azure CNE.
  • Strong API and microservices experience.
  • Proven experience delivering complex, production-grade enterprise applications.
  • Strong banking domain experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience providing technical leadership, design review and engineering guidance.
