About The Role

The Virtual Recruiter is seeking a highly motivated Full-Stack Software Developer to join our client's innovative team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about technology and eager to develop their skills across the full technology stack. The successful candidate will primarily focus on designing and developing modern, responsive web application front ends, but will also contribute to back-end services, database development, and secure client-server communication. Working within the Internet of Things (IoT) space, the developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including back-end specialists, to deliver high-quality solutions. The role is suitable for both part-time and full-time candidates and offers office-based work with potential for agile remote working following successful onboarding. Personal and technical growth are actively supported through training, mentorship, and continuous learning opportunities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in full-stack development, with experience in user interface design, secure communication protocols, and database management. Essential qualifications include proficiency in .NET Core, ASP.NET Web API, Microsoft Azure, and SQL databases. Candidates should have demonstrated experience developing modern, responsive web applications using popular frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, along with strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Familiarity with RESTful API development and security considerations is crucial. Additional desirable skills include experience with server-side languages like Node.js, Python, or other frameworks, knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and familiarity with containerisation tools like Docker. A proactive attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities are also important for success in this role.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Collaborating with team members to conceptualise, develop, and deploy software solutions.
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining modern, responsive web interfaces that enhance user experience.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of backend services and RESTful APIs, ensuring they are secure and efficient.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining relational database schemas to support application data needs.
  • Implementing secure communication channels between clients and servers to safeguard data integrity and privacy.
  • Engaging with end-users, developers, and engineers to gather and define clear application requirements.
  • Conducting software testing, including automated testing, and troubleshooting defects to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Monitoring project progress, reporting risks, and resolving technical issues proactively.
  • Creating comprehensive technical documentation and user manuals to facilitate ongoing maintenance and upgrades.
  • Promoting best development practices and sharing knowledge within the team and across the wider organisation.
  • Rolling out updates, patches, and enhancements to software applications as needed.
  • Securing applications against vulnerabilities and implementing best practices for cybersecurity.
  • Analyzing customer feedback to improve application usability and functionality.
  • Proposing workflow improvements to increase efficiency and project success rates.
  • Contributing innovative ideas for new projects based on market gaps and emerging technologies.
