We're on an ambitious journey to deliver health insights to one million people a year by 2028, and we're looking for a talented Full Stack Engineer to help us get there. As our digital products continue to grow, you'll play a key role in building and improving the technology that supports thousands of customers every day.

Working across the full stack, you'll develop modern front-end applications using Next.js, React and Angular, alongside scalable back-end services and APIs built with PHP, Laravel and Symfony. You'll join a collaborative Agile team of software engineers and testers, contributing to technical decisions, solving complex problems and delivering high-quality solutions with real impact.

What Your Day-to-day Will Look Like

  • Adhere to and demonstrate clear understanding of key security principles associated with building modern web-based applications.
  • Write clean, modular, maintainable code and adhere to coding standards, secure delivery policies and best practices.
  • Work with applicable frameworks and existing codebases to resolve issues and complete code reviews.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and triage issues to ensure smooth operation of the applications.
  • Ensure you are proficient in the toolsets required to perform day to day duties.
  • Work effectively within a team, providing clear updates to Product Owners, Engineering Manager, and team members.
  • Collaborate with team members to determine best practices and client requirements for software.
  • Maintain a consistent level of professionalism when communicating with colleagues and clients.
  • Develop intuitive software that meets and exceeds the needs of the company.
  • Actively seek ways to improve business software processes and interactions.
  • Be part of an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
  • Engage in training and internal workshops and demonstrate a mindset of continuous learning.
  • Take ownership of your own technical development.

Required

What you can bring to the team

  • Solid commercial experience as a full stack developer
  • Good knowledge of Object Orientated coding and SOLID Principles
  • Recent use of PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony
  • Experience with JavaScript Frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue
  • Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and associated technologies, including accessibility and WCAG standards
  • Extensive knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL
  • Proven experience building and maintaining performant APIs and integrating them with frontend applications to deliver features end to end
  • Strong understanding of version control (Git) / proficient with code versioning tools
  • Prior working experience in Agile methodologies
  • Experience with automated (e.g. Cypress and Playwright) and observability (e.g. Sentry/New Relic) testing across frontend and backend
  • Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of secure coding practices across the stack (e.g. OWASP, input validation, authentication
  • A team player with high energy and can-do attitude, able to work well within a team
  • Versatile and adaptable, able to present alternative solutions and quickly pick up new skills and technologies
  • A friendly, approachable and positive team member with good communication skills

Desirable

  • Knowledge of context, skills, management and usage of AI CLI tooling, e.g. Claude Code or Kiro
  • Familiar with modern delivery practices such as a TDD mindset (writing tests alongside code) and progressive rollout using feature flags (e.g. LaunchDarkly)
  • Experience with Typescript 5
  • Strong understanding of Tailwind CSS
  • Strong understanding of monorepos
  • Experience with cloud and containerisation technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka and AWS
  • Experience with Ionic Capacitor
  • Understanding of software architecture and design patterns
  • Interest in keeping up with latest tech stacks
