Join our growing digital team developing and maintaining bespoke, business-critical products for our customers and colleagues.

You will maintain and improve existing applications, develop new features and integrations, and contribute to our new native mobile app alongside specialist developers, taking increasing ownership after launch.

Working closely with our Product Owner, you will support a junior developer and collaborate with external specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot live products, integrations and services.
  • Develop features, APIs, integrations and data flows across front and back-end systems.
  • Contribute to development and ongoing ownership of our iOS and Android app.
  • Write maintainable, documented code and participate in reviews, testing and deployment.
  • Support a junior developer and work with external development partners.
  • Improve development workflows, monitoring, tooling and automation.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours rota for critical incidents.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years' professional software engineering/full-stack experience.
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and React/Next.js experience.
  • Back-end development using Node.js or similar.
  • REST APIs, third-party integrations and SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Git, cloud platforms, Kubernetes and modern development workflows.
  • Experience contributing to iOS/Android mobile applications.
  • Pragmatic problem-solving and ownership of existing systems.
  • Effective, responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.

Desirable

  • Node.js/NestJS, PostgreSQL/Prisma, Redux Toolkit/RTK Query, native/cross-platform mobile, Docker, CI/CD, webhooks, automated testing and monitoring.
  • Experience in an in-house SME team and working with external partners.
  • Experience integrating AI features and developing data pipelines.

Job particulars
