Full-stack Software Engineer

Are you a full-stack software engineer passionate about building AI-powered products, modern web applications, and scalable backend services? We are seeking a Software Engineer to join the Product Engineering Team, helping develop innovative menu management solutions including AI-powered image generation and OCR scanning capabilities. This role provides an opportunity to work across the entire technology stack, delivering customer-facing products while driving technical excellence, performance, scalability, and user experience improvements.
The ideal candidate combines expertise in Java, Spring Boot, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, API development, cloud-native applications, and database design with a strong ownership mindset and passion for high-quality software engineering.
Location: Hybrid (London, UK or Enschede, Netherlands)
Key Responsibilities
Full-Stack Application Development
- Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing applications across the full technology stack.
- Deliver new features from concept through deployment and ongoing support.
- Build intuitive, responsive, and scalable user experiences.
- Contribute to AI-enabled product capabilities and innovative menu solutions.
- Ensure software meets business, performance, and usability requirements.
Backend Development
- Develop and maintain backend services using:
- Java
- Spring Boot
- Microservice Architectures
- Implement scalable business logic and service integrations.
- Design robust and maintainable application architectures.
- Optimize performance, reliability, and maintainability of backend systems.
- Support secure and efficient application operations.
API Design & Integration
- Design, build, and maintain:
- REST APIs
- GraphQL APIs
- Ensure seamless data flow between systems and applications.
- Develop integration solutions supporting customer and partner workflows.
- Improve API scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with frontend and product teams on API requirements.

Software Quality & Testing
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Participate actively in:

- Ensure software quality through engineering best practices.
- Continuously improve reliability, maintainability, and test coverage.
Performance, Scalability & Reliability
- Analyze and improve application performance.

- Ensure reliable production performance.
Production Support & Troubleshooting
- Investigate and resolve production issues.
- Participate in operational support activities when required.
