Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist with 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in Core Java, React, and cloud-native architecture to join our client's Investment Banking engineering team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency applications tailored for risk management systems.

You will lead technical initiatives across a modern tech stack—combining event streaming (Kafka/Flink), microservices, AWS cloud infrastructure, and modern frontend frameworks—to deliver secure, resilient, and real-time financial solutions for our client.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End System Design & Development: Architectural design and development of robust microservices and interactive user interfaces using Core Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, and ReactJS.
  • Real-Time Data Processing: Build and maintain scalable event-driven architectures utilizing Apache Kafka and Apache Flink for real-time risk data streaming.
  • API & Integration Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain high-performance RESTful APIs and gRPC services for seamless cross-system and frontend-backend communication.
  • Cloud & DevOps Integration: Deploy, scale, and manage cloud-native applications on AWS (leveraging AWS Lambda, ECS/EKS) and Kubernetes; collaborate with client DevOps teams to maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Frontend Excellence: Construct responsive, accessible, and performant UI components using TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and Redux/Context API.
  • Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and architectural mentorship to junior and mid-level developers.
  • Domain Alignment: Partner with quantitative analysts, risk officers, and product owners to translate complex risk management requirements into technical implementations.
  • System Optimization & Reliability: Conduct performance tuning, memory profiling, and multithreading optimizations; troubleshoot and resolve production incidents to uphold high availability.
  • Quality & Compliance: Maintain high code quality through rigorous automated testing, static analysis, secure coding standards, and compliance with banking regulations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
