Position Description
Position Summary
The Department of Nursing in the School of Science, Engineering & Health at Messiah University invites applications for a faculty position in Nursing beginning August 1, 2027.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities may include teaching undergraduate nursing courses in medical-surgical nursing, pathophysiology, health assessment, foundations, pharmacology, and/or pediatrics. Other specialty areas may also be considered. Oversight of students in the clinical setting and simulation lab will be included.
Qualifications
- Must have a graduate degree in nursing.
- Minimum of Master of Science degree in nursing with appropriate clinical practice certifications; doctoral degree in nursing preferred (PhD or DNP) or current enrollment in doctoral study.
- Graduate preparation in Nursing Education is preferred, with didactic and clinical teaching experience.
- Candidate should be committed to excellence in teaching in a Christian liberal arts setting.
- Must have a current, valid professional nursing license in Pennsylvania, or approved multi-state license.

The program enjoys a reputation for high-quality classroom and clinical instruction, producing well-prepared graduates who are preferred for hire in local and regional healthcare institutions. The BSN and DNP/FNP programs have maintained a 100% FNP board pass rate and a 99.6% five-year average for first-time NCLEX pass rate. Messiah University’s Department of Nursing offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, including:

- DNP – Family Nurse Practitioner (post BSN), Nursing Leadership (post-master’s), Nurse Educator
